CIA changes view on Covid-19 origin

The American CIA, while shifting its position on the origin of Covid, said that it is more likely that the virus was leaked from a Chinese laboratory.
A CIA spokesman said, without expressing full confidence in the claim, that both aspects of the virus’ transmission from the animal and its exit from the research center were being investigated.
The FBI and the US Department of Energy also support the lab-exclusion theory, while the majority of other agencies consider animal-to-animal transmission as the cause of the outbreak.
In 2019, the first cases of Corona were reported in the Chinese city of Wuhan, which is considered the center of Corona research.
In a statement, a CIA spokesperson that the agency continues to assess that both research-related and natural origin scenarios of the COVID-19 pandemic remain plausible.
The CIA, for years, had said it was nor clear if the Covid pandemic emerged from human exposure to an infected animal or from an event at a research lab in China.
