Is Corona Vaccine Causing Heart Attacks Among Young People?

After the sudden death of a young teacher in Lahore, many people are worried. They are asking if the COVID-19 vaccine is causing more heart attacks and sudden deaths in young people.

However, leading heart doctors have dismissed these fears. They say there is no proof that the COVID vaccine causes heart problems or sudden death.

What Experts Say

Professor Dr. Nadeem Rizvi, a well-known cardiologist, explained the facts clearly. He said there is no scientific link between the COVID-19 vaccine and an increase in heart attacks or sudden deaths among young people.

Dr. Rizvi added that sudden heart deaths in young people usually happen because of inherited heart problems or rare diseases. These are not caused by blocked arteries like in older people.

Rare Cases of Heart Inflammation

The doctor also said that some very rare cases of heart inflammation, called myocarditis, have been found. These cases mostly affect young men but are very uncommon.

Since 2022, health authorities like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have checked vaccine safety data. They found no increase in myocarditis cases related to the vaccine.

The Lahore Incident and Medical Caution

Regarding the recent death in Lahore, Dr. Rizvi advised against blaming the vaccine without proper medical tests. He explained that sudden deaths outside hospitals can happen for many reasons.

Only about 7% of people survive sudden cardiac arrest without quick medical help, like using a defibrillator.

Important Advice for the Public

Dr. Rizvi urged people not to connect every heart attack or sudden death to the COVID vaccine unless there is scientific evidence.

He shared that about 25% of sudden cardiac deaths are due to inherited conditions, which have nothing to do with vaccination.

He also encouraged everyone to focus on early medical care and awareness instead of fearing the vaccine.
