Minister Qadri in Jordan urges OIC joint action against sacrilege of Quran

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has urged Muslim countries to devise a joint strategy to stop the incidents of desecration of Holy Quran and sacred personalities.

He was this while addressing a meeting of General Council of Religious Ministers of Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jordan.

Minister Qadri strongly condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in Norway last month.

Furthermore, he emphasised the role of mosques and prayer leaders for creating exemplary tolerant society. Specially, he suggested their role in character building and teaching of moral values.

Meanwhile, ministers of member countries lauded the suggestion of Noor-ul-Haq Qadri.

They agreed to hold detailed discussions on how to stop frequent desecration incidents.

Moreover, they will gather at the next meeting in Jeddah to discuss the matter.
