Mobile, internet services suspended in parts of Karachi

Mobile and internet services have been suspended in several parts of Karachi as part of security measure during Iranian president’s visit to the city.

Sources said that mobile and internet services have been suspended in several parts including Model Colony, Nursery, Baloch Colony, Karsaz, Natha Khan and Red Zone.

On the other hand, several key city roads, including Shahrah-e-Faisal and Shahrah-e-Quaideen have been closed for traffic. Petrol pumps and other business centres along these arteries are also closed.

Traffic Police said that the roads would be reopened for traffic at 7pm.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has landed at Karachi airport, where Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah received him.

The Iranian president will visit Mazar-e-Quaid and hold meetings with Sindh governor and chief minister.

Iranian President Raisi accompanying the First Lady and a high-level delegation will stay in the city today.
