Mohsin Naqvi, Allama Nasir Abbas elected unopposed as senators

Mohsin Naqvi, Allama Nasir Abbas including seven others have been elected unopposed as senators on seven general seats of Punjab.

The Sunni Ittehad Council chief Raja Nasir Abbas and Hamid Khan Advocate were also successful on the seats.

In total, five candidates of ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and two candidates of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf were elected unopposed.

Mohsin Naqvi, the Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman and the Interior Minister, was backed by the ruling coalition.

Pervaiz Rashid and Talal Chaudhry were also elected unopposed.

Technically, all of them were declared elected unopposed as only seven candidates were left in the fray for seven general seats.

On the other hand, Walid Iqbal, Shahzad Waseem, Ejaz Minhas, Mosaddek Malik and Umar Cheema have withdrawn their papers for the general seats.
