Superstar batter Babar Azam continues to shine with the bat as he broke multiple records in the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League season nine.

The prolific runs getter achieved these feats during the first Qualifier against Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium.

Though his team was unable to progress directly to the final, but his impressive records would be a huge boost when they will play the eliminator on Saturday.

For starters, he became the first batter this year to complete 1000 runs in T20s. He has played 21 matches so far this year and scored 1,008 runs at an impressive average of 53.05.

Babar has scored 10 half-centuries and a century this year already.

South Africa’s Hendrik Erasmus van der Dussen is second in the list with 762 runs to his name this year, followed by England’s James Vince, who has scored 707 runs.

Moreover, he has also completed 500 runs in a single HBL PSL edition for the third time.  Previously, he amassed 554 runs in the 2021 edition and 522 runs in 2023.

It’s noteworthy that only Mohammad Rizwan had achieved 500 or more runs in three editions of the PSL. Rizwan accomplished this feat in 2021 with 500 runs, followed by 546 runs in 2022 and 550 runs in 2023.
