National Assembly debate on expulsion of French envoy to resume Friday.

In this regard, a session of the National Assembly held in Islamabad today (Tuesday) but that could last for a brief period.

Finally, the Speaker adjourned the session till Friday after an inconclusive proceedings.

Now, the session will resume on Friday, April 23, at 11am.

Meanwhile, PMLN’s Ahsan Iqbal raised objections to private member resolution and PM’s absence

Technically, a private member resolution remains a non-official business.

Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal underlined this fact and said all members of the parliament know this.

Moreover, he drew attention to absence of the prime minister.

He lamented that the MNAs are debating such an important matter and the prime minister remains busy with something else.

He also raised another point that neither did the prime minister come, nor did any minister have the guts to present this resolution.

PMLN’s bigwig proposals and objections

Ahsan Iqbal suggested that Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed or Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri present the resolution to make it official business of the parliament.

Furthermore, Iqbal also demanded that the aforesaid two minister should give statements in the parliament regarding the events occurred during the week.

He suggested that the prime minister must be made obligated to sit in the parliament and take part in proceedings.

He further called for discussing the agreement of the government with TLP in the parliament.

Moreover, he desired to know stance of the State in this matter. Therefore, he emphasized to take into confidence all.

The PML-N leader called for adjourning the session and that the government and Opposition sit down and hold talks on the issue.

He noted it important to bring a resolution with the consent of both the government and the opposition to the parliament.

Earlier, PMLN’s Shahid Khaqan Abbasi exchanged hot words with Speaker NA, Asad Qaiser.

Meanwhile, Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Noor-ul-Haq Qadri also spoke.

He referred to the history behind the resolution.

He said the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) which had asked the government to table the resolution in parliament, are citizens of Pakistan.

Moreover, Qadri said that many religious parties had indicated their support for the banned outfit.

However, the Opposition’s MNAs continued to speak loudly and impede the minister’s speech.

Minister Qadri also reminded them of Model Town tragedy in which protesters of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek were killed.

He also referred to the TLP’s Faizabad sit-in.

He asked PMLN that those tragic incidents occurred during tenure of PMLN government.
