National Price Monitoring Committee issues directives for Eidul Azha regarding check on prices of essential items.

Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tareen chaired the meeting of National Price Monitoring Committee in Islamabad.

He urged the respective District Administrations and departments to take stern measures to keep the prices of essential items including vegetables in check.

He asked them check prices on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha to eliminate undue profiteering.

The Finance Minister constituted a working group under the umbrella of NPMC.

That working group will workout measures for bringing price stability in basic commodities.

It would do so through building strategic reserves to ensure availability of basic commodities at affordable price.

Meanwhile, relevant officials briefed that a slight increase of 0.07 percent in weekly Sensitive Price Index indicates price stability as compared to the previous weeks.
