Pakistan Muslim League-N supremo (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif today in his maiden message to the “nation” expressed hope that people will make him victorious in the February 8, 2024 general elections.

Nawaz Sharif in his recorded address lamented PTI’s founder Imran Khan, questioned why Pakistan was punished by imposing [establishment’s] ladla (darling) on them after his removal from power in 2017.

The PML-N supremo reiterated the call for holding those accountable who were behind his government’s ouster in 2017, claiming they not only punished him and his family, but Pakistan as well.

“Your enmity was with Nawaz Sharif and you had put him in jail but why did you punish the people? Why the lives of labourers and farmers were made miserable,” he asked during his ‘address to the nation’.

The former prime minister stated that the recent court decisions in his favour exposed the falsehoods behind the cases. “Thanks to Allah, I have been vindicated. The court has acquitted me of all charges,” he proclaimed.

“I was called Sicilian Mafia, God Father, and a lot of other derogatory words [by judges]. But I left all my troubles up to Allah,” he smiled.

The PML-N elder lamented that he had to stay in jail for a “long time”, endure “abuse”, and also face “character assassination”.

Nawaz Sharif needs lifting a lifelong ban on holding any public office to qualify for polls and eventually be the candidate of prime ministership for fouth time. The N league founder already acquitted from graft conviction and avenfield reference from Islamabad high court.
