NDMA chairman confirms 3800 ventilators available in Pakistan.

Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal has said over 3800 ventilators are available in the country.
Moreover, two thousand more will be imported from China.

He said this while briefing Parliamentary Committee in Islamabad on Monday.
The chairman further said five hundred ventilators will reach Pakistan on Thursday.
29,000 protective kits for doctors and paramedics have been provided to provinces.
He said 137 hospitals, have exclusively been dedicated for the patients of Coronavirus. He said 22 laboratories are working across the country.
 
On the other hand, Punjab government has extended the partial lockdown in the province till 14th of this month.
It made this decision in view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation, 
Punjab Home Department issued a notification to this effect in Lahore on Monday.
Moreover, the government asked people to cooperate with law-enforcement agencies to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Ahmad Buzdar has directed to benefit from the Chinese experience in fight against coronavirus pandemic.
He issued these directives talking to the Minister for Health Dr. Yasmin Rashid in Lahore.
Provincial Minister for Health briefed him about Chinese doctors’ experience and experts’ measures for the prevention of coronavirus pandemic.
Buzdar asked her to ensure emulating successful Chinese experience and SOPs regarding quarantine. 
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan says the government is taking effective steps to control the spreading of coronavirus pandemic in the province.

He said this in a statement in Peshawar,.

Khan expressed hope that the government will soon be able to overcome the crises of fatal disease with the people cooperation.

He said under the relief package of the government, more than two million deserving households will be given a cash amount of twelve thousand each in the first phase.

In second phase people would get six thousand.

The Chief Minister said that under the Locum Scheme professionals including doctors, nurses, paramedics and pharmacists are being hired on daily wage basis to back up the existing health workers.
