Maryam expands ‘Honhaar Scholarship Scheme’ to other provinces

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the Honhaar Scholarship Scheme for students from other provinces and stressed that education and youth development were the actual investments for progressing a nation.
According to a statement, the same eligibility criteria, as being practiced in Punjab, have been fixed for students from other provinces.
The chief minister gave her approval while presiding over a special meeting regarding higher education in Lahore.
She, during the meeting, also increased the number of laptops for students in Punjab to 110,000. The meeting also set a minimum eligibility criteria of 65 per cent marks to qualify for a laptop in Punjab.
She also formally okayed the scholarship scheme for the students of second, third and fourth semesters in Punjab.
The Punjab chief minister directed setting up a special helpline for the students of the scholarship and laptop schemes.
Maryam, speaking during the meeting, said that the Honhaar Scholarship and Laptop schemes were the right of every child, adding it’s the responsibility of the government.
She added that education and youth development are the real investments for the uplift of a nation and I want to see every child getting a laptop. Laptops and Honhaar scholarships are the right of students from other provinces as well.
