‘Justify your work or lose job’, Elon Musk warns US govt employees

Elon Musk, a member of the US Department of Government Performance (DOGE), has issued a warning to government employees on social media, saying that they will have to explain the work done throughout the week.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Musk said: “Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”
Elon Musk, a member of the US Department of Government Performance (DOGE), added that federal employees who do not respond to the email will be considered resignation.
According to foreign news agency, workers at government agencies such as the  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Securities and Exchange Commission have already begun receiving the email.
Another media house said that court staff, judges, and prison officials also received the email.
Sources said that the subject line of the email is “What did you do last week?”.
The email asks the federal employees to run down their accomplishments within the last seven days in approximately five bullet points.
They said that the deadline to submit a response is 11:59 p.m. EST time on Monday.
