Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami said on Thursday that Operation Al-Aqsa Storm (October 7) from Hamas against Israel was fully designed and carried out by the Palestinians themselves.

Major General Hossein Salami made the remarks on Thursday during a funeral procession for Brigadier General Seyyed Razi Mousavi, an IRGC commander who was martyred in a terrorist Israeli airstrike in a Damascus neighborhood three days ago.

Salami said that the operation (October 7) was a reaction to 75 years of Israeli occupation, crimes, and murders of the Palestinian youth as well as the regime’s desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque and nightly raids in the West Bank.

“Hamas and Jihad are capable of producing weapons inside Gaza… The resistance will not end, but what ends is the Zionist regime’s power”, IRGC chief added.

The operation (October 7) was carried out “separately from Iran’s retaliation for Martyr Qassem Soleimani, which is still there for the taking and with many options on the table in that regard,” Salami underlined. “Iran fearlessly claims responsibility for all the operations it carried out.”

“Martyr Razi spent his life in the struggle of Resistance and sacrifices, and he was a companion of Resistance fighter martyr Qassem Soleimani,” he added. “The desperation and defeat of the enemy are due to his struggle [on the path of liberation].”

“Our revenge for the martyrdom of Sayyed Razi will be nothing less than the removal of the Zionist regime,” Salami said, adding that he (Razi) had defended the Muslim nation for almost 33 years.

“I am hopeful that soon, God permitting, the great and honorable Palestinian fighters will wipe out the geographical and political name of this evil and fake regime”, Salami added.

Today, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei led prayers at the funeral of Sayyed Razi Mousavi, a senior Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) adviser killed in what Iran said was an Israeli air strike in Syria.

Khamenei paid tribute “to this martyr’s tireless struggle and called for his companionship with the guardians of God.”

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi mourned Mousavi, vowing that the Israeli occupation would pay the price for its crime.
