Over 1300 new positive cases of Coronavirus infection confirmed in Pakistan.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre,76 more people died due to Coronavirus infection.

Furthermore, it updated that 41,824 tests conducted in a day. Positivity ratio remained 3.1 percent.

It also confirmed that 1303 new positive cases reported in the country.

Meanwhile, Economic Coordination Committee has expressed the government’s commitment to provide 1.1 billion dollars for procurement of COVID-19 Vaccine.

Minister for Finance and Revenue, Shaukat Tarin presided the meeting in Islamabad.

ECC approves funds

It decided so for achieving the vaccination target till December this year.

Minimum target for vaccine procurement is 45 million and maximum is 65 million.

The ECC in its meeting on 31st of last month had already approved 130 million dollars for procuring the vaccine for the month of June 2021.

However, due to the increased target of vaccination by NCOC, another 50 million US dollars was required in addition to the already approved amount for the month of June this year.

ECC also approved the additional funds of 70 million dollars for achieving the vaccination target for this month.

National Command and Operation Centre has declared it during its session held in Islamabad today (Wednesday).

It made anti-Covid vaccination obligatory for public and private sector employees.

Furthermore, it called for vaccination of all government servants by the end of this month.

Planning Minister Asad Umar who also heads the NCOC, presided over the meeting.

Moreover, the forum decided countrywide mass vaccination campaign under three pronged strategy.

It eyes all citizens immunization on voluntary basis, while introducing certain incentives for various sectors to encourage vaccination.

The NCOC also decided that all vaccination centres will remain open from 8 A.M. to 10 P.M.

It will become effective from next Friday, except on Sunday.

From Friday onwards, citizens of 18 years plus may avail the walk-in facility in vaccination centres.

Meanwhile, NCOC continues the process of developing IT based solutions for verification of vaccination certificates.

They will complete it by the end of this month.
