Pak, Saudi ties unprecedented in world: Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is unprecedented in the world.

“The close relations between the two brotherly countries spanned over decades,” the prime minister said in an interview with Al Arabiya, a Saudi state-owned international news television channel today.

The interview comes days after a Saudi foreign minister and investors’ delegation visited Islamabad.

He said that the government’s first priority is to revive the economy. He added that recent high-level ties with Saudi Arabia will improve economy.

Shehbaz said that the first visit of any Pakistani prime minister to Saudi Arabia has been a tradition.

My recent visit to Saudi Arabia was successful, he told the Saudi media house.

The prime minister said that the recent visit of Saudi foreign minister and businessmen’s delegation to Pakistan was a milestone.

The premier said the two  countries have identified areas of mutual cooperation, both at the government-to-government and business-to-business levels. He was of the view that both the countries now have a clear-cut way forward.

The premier said the two countries would work on mutual cooperation and investments in various sectors, including mines and minerals and renewable energy.
