Pakistan Africa Trade Development Conference begins in Nairobi where Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and adviser to the PM A Razzak Dawood have reached.

The two-day first ever Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference begins today.
Pakistan and Kenya jointly host the conference.
The dignitaries from other African States also are participating.
The Conference provides an important opportunity for Pakistani and African businesses to interface and identify the areas for enhanced engagement.

Furthermore, it remains an opportunity for them to develop proposals for customized economic collaboration.

Foreign Minister Qureshi and Adviser to the Prime Minister for Commerce, Trade and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood will address the inaugural Session.

During the visit, the Foreign Minister will also hold meetings with the Kenyan leadership.
He will meet Cabinet Secretaries for Foreign Affairs & International Trade.
He will also have meetings with African Community and Northern Corridor Development.
Adviser to the PM Abdul Razak Dawood had left for Nairobi yesterday to attend the Conference.
According to a press release from Ministry of Commerce, Pakistan’s FM and PM’s adviser will highlight the relations of Pakistan with Africa.
Meanwhile, Commerce Secretary, Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera, will present trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan.
He will also invite African delegates to enhance Pakistan-Africa trade and Investment level.
He will ask them to develop banking and transportation channels to facilitate trade.
Representatives of over 80 leading Pakistani companies have also arrived in Kenya to attend the conference.
They belong to textiles, pharmaceutical and surgical sector, engineering goods, home appliances, tractors and agricultural implements.
Besides, companies of IT services, rice, fruits and vegetables, cement and construction services etc also reached there.
Moreover, representatives of National Database Registration Authority and Frontier Works Organization will also give presentations in the Conference.
They will offer their services while Secretary, Ministry of Maritime Affairs will also make a presentation.
The secretary offers Pakistani ports services to African traders for shipping their goods to Afghanistan, Central Asia and China.
Kenyan Minister of Trade, State Minister from Uganda, undersecretaries from Egypt and Sudan are attending the conference.
Moreover, 40 senior officials and over 150 businessmen from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Niger, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Mauritius, Rwanda, Uganda, Somalia and Burundi have also arrived there.
Over 100 companies from Kenya are participating in the conference.
Senior Officials from Egypt, Nigeria, Sudan, Kenya, South Africa, Tunisia etc. will present their countries’ trade and investment potential.
They will also discuss linkages to enhance trade with Pakistan.
The senior officials-led delegations will also have meetings with Adviser and Secretary Commerce and Secretary TDAP to discuss bilateral trade issues.
Over 2000 B2B meetings have been confirmed so far between African and Pakistani companies by TDAP for the 2-day event.
