Pakistan likely to make two changes against Canada

11 June, 2024 15:13

With early T20 World Cup exit looms, Pakistan are set to face Canada in a must-win game in order to stay alive in the competition.

The Men in Green faced a stiff challenge in coming up with a right combination and suffered back-to-back defeats against India and USA.

However, two changes are on cards for struggling Pakistan when they take on Canada today (Tuesday).

The only hope for Pakistan to make it to the next stage rests with the results according to their liking.

Pakistan want India to win their remaining games and the US must lose to Ireland. Then they have a slim chance of making through to the next round if they win the remaining two matches with a good margin.

The US have yet to play India and Ireland while India’s next two games also include a match against Canada.

The match against Canada may see Saim Ayub and Abrar Ahmed for the first time in the tournament.

Imad Wasim though played the match against India the other day, he still is not one hundred percent.

Moreover, there were also talks about resting key bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and giving opportunity to Abbas Afridi instead.

However, the team management is in favour of resting the pacer in the important game.

The match against Canada will start at 7.30 PST. Nassau Stadium pitch would help seamers as it has been doing in last week.

The weather forecast for Tuesday morning is clear with mixed sunny/cloudy conditions.
