Pakistan management considering change in batting order

23 April, 2024 14:27

The Pakistan team think tank is mulling over a possible change in batting lineup after the Men in Green suffered a seven-wicket defeat in second T20I.

As per reports, the team management is considering number three slot for Fakhar Zaman or Usman Khan.

The position is currently occupied by Mohammad Rizwan, who is facing uncertainty due to a hamstring injury.

He may be sidelined for the remainder of the series pending scan results, with a decision expected today on his availability.

Even if the wicketkeeper batter is fit to play, the management wants him to bat at number four position.

However, this decision is not backed by captain Babar Azam, who prefer Rizwan to maintain his position in the top order.

Rizwan himself is wary of the proposed change, considering his strong track record as a top-order batsman in T20Is.

Notably, Fakhar Zaman has yet to feature in the ongoing series against New Zealand, while Usman Khan has managed 12 runs across two innings.
