Pakistan terms Afghanistan ambassador recalling as unfortunate and regrettable.

In Islamabad, Foreign Office issued a statement in reaction to the Government of Afghanistan’s decision to recall its Ambassador and senior diplomats from Pakistan.

Furthermore, it said that Pakistan is investigating the reported abduction and assault of Ambassador’s daughter in Islamabad.

It said the authorities concerned are and following-up the matter at the highest level on the instructions of the Prime Minister.

Foreign Office further said that the government has beefed up the security of the Ambassador, his family and personnel of the Embassy and Consulates of Afghanistan in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Secretary met the Ambassador of Afghanistan today.

He highlighted all the steps which the Government of Pakistan has taken in this context.

He also re-assured him of full cooperation.

Moreover, he expressed hope that the Government of Afghanistan would reconsider its decision.

On Friday, unknown assailants briefly kidnapped the daughter of Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan.

According to reports, they held her for several hours.

They injured Silsila Alikhil while on her way home in the Pakistani capital Islamabad.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s foreign ministry said she was “severely tortured”.

Later, Afghanistan announced recalling senior diplomats including the ambassador.

Relations between the two neighbours have remained disturbed since long.

Meanwhile, Kabul also blames Islamabad in the wake of Taliban take over of many districts.
