Pakistan wants dignified return of Afghan refugees part of Afghan peace process.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi further underscored power sharing as the way to avert civil war in Afghanistan.

Pakistan’s relations with Iran further strengthen

He expressed these views, while speaking at the Senate’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Friday.

The FM said it is our effort and desire that the neighboring country does not plunge into the civil war again.

He further said Pakistan wants that the dignified return of Afghan refugees included in the Afghan peace process.

The Foreign Minister said Iran has an important role regarding Afghanistan which cannot be overlooked.

He said Pakistan’s relations with Iran has further strengthened.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said we are establishing border markets with Iran.

Meanwhile, Pakistan welcomed Iran engagement with Afghan parties for negotiated political settlement.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri shared the government of Pakistan’s viewpoint.

In a response to media regarding the visit of Taliban and Afghan government delegations to Tehran, he said Pakistan welcomes Iran’s engagement.

He further said Pakistan considers the role of Iran in the Afghan peace process important.

Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said Iran, like Pakistan, is a neighboring country of Afghanistan.

Moreover, Iran also hosts 2 millions of Afghan refugees.
