The PAF spokesman said the F-16 jet crashed near Islamabad’s Shakarparian.
Police personnel and rescue teams hade begun an operation while the entire area has been cordoned off.

The official said that the PAF had formed an inquiry board to determine the cause of crash.
Sources told that no casualties have been reported so far. A huge cloud of smoke was seen billowing into the sky after the mishap.
Meanwhile, Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari reacted to the crash and expressed hope for the safety of the pilots.

Senator Sherry Rehman of PPP also prayed for the safety of the pilot in her tweet.
She retweeted the news that the plane crashed near Islamabad Parade Ground.
