FM discusses measures at  Emergency Crisis Management Cell meeting.

 

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi chaired a meeting of Emergency Crisis Management Cell in Islamabad on Thursday.

He discussed different aspects of the threat posed by coronavirus.


In his remarks on the occasion, the foreign minister said that overseas Pakistanis are our asset while facilitating them is foremost priority of present government.

 

Earlier, Pakistan confirmed 1102 cases of Coronavirus.
The total confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in the country have risen to 1102.

According to latest statistics, these included 417 in Sindh and  323 in Punjab.

Coronavirus has infected 131 in Balochistan and 121 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Gilgit-Baltistan reported 84 confirmed cases while 25 cases confirmed in  Islamabad and one in Azad Kashmir.
 117 in Balochistan, 81 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 80 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
At least 20 Coronavirus confirmed cases reported in  Islamabad and one in Azad Kashmir.
Twenty-one patients have recovered so far while eight died from the virus.
Five patients are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran also welcomed opposition input to deal with challenge of Coronavirus pandemic.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said, while addressing a meeting of the parliamentary leaders in the National Assembly and Senate in Islamabad via video link.
He said the government will welcome any input from the opposition to face the challenge of Coronavirus.
He urged political parties to come forward and join forces with the government to reassess the situation.
The Prime Minister said at the moment, he believes that we should not go for a complete lockdown.
