Indonesia and Pakistan to continue mutual consultation and joint efforts to defeat Corona pandemic.

The two countries agreed to continue consultation during telephonic conversation between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Indonesian counterpart Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi.
Qureshi held telephonic conversation with him under his diplomatic contact campaign amid COVID-19 threat.

Both FMs exchanged views over global efforts to prevent spread of the Coronavirus.
They agreed to continue mutual consultation and joint efforts through platforms like OIC and the United Nations to defeat Corona pandemic.
On behalf of Pakistan and its people, Qureshi expressed grief over loss of precious human lives in Indonesia due to global pandemic.
The Foreign Minister also appreciated Indonesia’s timely measures to contain spread of the virus.
Meanwhile, he apprised FM Marsudi of Pakistan’s efforts to face the global challenge of COVID-19.
Shah Mahmood said we are emphasizing on maintaining social distancing to limit the outbreak of the pandemic.
He said COVID-19 is adversely impacting the global economy and countries with meager resources are facing immense difficulties to face this challenge.
He informed his Indonesian counterpart about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s suggestion of restructuring loans to support economies of the developing countries.
Suggestion aims at enabling countries to utilize their resources to save precious human lives and to prevent the disease.
Moreover, Shah Mahmood also apprised the seriousness of the situation in Occupied Kashmir in the wake of COVID-19.
The FM said India has besieged eight million innocent people of Occupied Kashmir by imposing illegal curfew.
He stressed the need for urging Indian leadership to immediately end the illegal detention of the Kashmiri people so that provision of food and medicines can be ensured to them.
Both the leaders agreed to continue mutual consultation and joint efforts through platforms like OIC and the United Nations to defeat Corona pandemic.
