Egyptian President Sisi expresses support to PM’s call for debt relief during his telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Both leader also expressed resolve to evolve a joint comprehensive plan.

They agreed to turn economic crisis, which Coronavirus pandemic engendered, into an opportunity for economic regeneration.

Prime Minister Imran Khan’s telephonic conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fatteh Sisi on Thursday also covered over all situation.

The wide-ranging discussion between the two leaders focused on their respective national approaches to managing COVID-19 and Prime Minister Imran Khan’s call to launch a ‘Global Initiative on Debt Relief’ for developing countries.

While sharing his views, Prime Minister Imran Khan underscored that while debt suspension will help free up resources in the developing countries.

That will enable them to manage this unprecedented global health and economic crisis, more measures are needed to reboot the developing countries’ economies.

Egyptian President Abdel Fatteh Sisi expressed support to the Prime Minister’s Debt Relief Initiative.

Notably, PM Khan-led Pakistan government has successfully lobbied to seek debt relief.

Due to that, many lending bodies such as IMF and World Bank also consider this proposal seriously.

Earlier, Special Assistant to the PM on Poverty Alleviation Sania Nishtar and Special Adviser to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar met Imran Khan in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Prime Minister directed to operationalize the Prime Minister Covid-19 Tigers Force across the country from Monday.
