Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of MPA Punjab Assembly Shaheen Raza.

In a statement, he prayed for eternal rest in peace for the departed soul.

He expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for their patience.

Meanwhile, Information Minister Shibli Faraz also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Shaheen Raza.

Shaheen Raza belonged to PTI. She succumbed to the novel coronavirus.

She had reportedly presented symptoms of the deadly virus a few days ago.

First she got treatment through private doctors.

Later, she was shifted to the District Headquarter Hospital.

Eventually she was taken to Mayo Hospital, Lahore where she succumbed to the disease.

According to Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner Sohail Ashraf, who confirmed the MPA’s death, the legislator’s health had deteriorated over the weekend.

Since then, she had been on the ventilator.

The MPA had been inspecting quarantine centres regularly to ensure guidelines set by the government.

Doctors said that the 60-year-old MPA also suffered from diabetes and blood pressure issues.
