Coronavirus situation may worsen if people violate precautionary measures, according to Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Zafar Mirza.

He warned the COVID-19 situation could further worsen if the people did not practice the precautionary measures.

Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Zafar Mirza alerted, while briefing the media in Islamabad on Friday.

He said the country recorded 2603 new coronavirus cases with fifty deaths during the last twenty four hours which are the highest in a single day.

Dr Mirza said the country also conducted the highest number of coronavirus tests during the last twenty-four hours.

He recalled that the lockdown was eased in view of the difficulties of the poor people and the daily wagers.

Dr Zafar Mirza appealed the people to follow the SOPs agreed for Ramazan-ul-Mubarak in the prayers of Juma-tul-Wida and Eid.

Meanwhile, Coronavirus has killed 1067 people in Pakistan so far while total confirmed cases also rose to over 50 thousand.

Overall 2,603 cases detected in the country during the last 24 hours.

Total 1,067 patients have died so far while 15,201 stand recovered.

The number of confirmed coronavirus infection cases in the country has reached 50,694.

50 deaths reported during the last 24 hours.

The cases so far reported in Punjab 18,455, in Sindh 19,924, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 7,155, in Balochistan 3,074, in Islamabad 1,326, in Gilgit-Baltistan 602 and in Azad Kashmir 158.
