Govt will bear all expenses for repairing of the damaged houses, said Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan.

He said this, while talking to the media after visiting the PIA plane crash site in Karachi on Saturday.

Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan  said the Government will bear all the expense for the repairing and restoration of the damaged houses.

He announced that each injured person will be given five hundred thousand rupees.

Meanwhile, Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar said inquiry report of the PIA plane crash incident will be compiled in shortest possible time.

He said this, while addressing news conference in Karachi this afternoon.

CEO of PIA Air Marshal retired Arshad Malik accompanied him.

Sarwar said we fully share the pain and grief of the families of the deceased.

He said no one can compensate the loss of human lives; however, government will expedite the process to award compensation of one million rupees to family of each victim.

The Minister said compensation will also be given to those, whose properties, including houses or vehicles have been damaged in the incident after, proper assessment.

Ghulam Sarwar said it will be ensured that at least a provincial investigation report of the incident comes within three months. He assured that there will be an independent, free, and fair inquiry and any responsible, if found, will be taken to the task.

The Minister said security forces, relief agencies and ordinary citizens displayed exemplary humanitarian spirit to save the crash victims.

Earlier, CEO PIA Arshad Malik said 21 dead bodies have been handed over to their relatives. He said transparent investigation will be held into the incident. He said samples of DNA have been taken to identify the bodies.

97 died two survived

Till the filing of this report, the relevant authorities had established identity of 19 deceased.

However, the officials concerned said 97 died in the crash. They included twenty-six women, sixty-eight men and three children.

Sixty-six bodies including twenty female, forty-three male and three children were moved to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center.

There, fifty bodies remain unidentified so far.

Thirty-one bodies were taken to Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital. They included six of women and twenty-five men.

Twenty-eight of them remain unidentified and three identified as that of Major Sheriyar, Lt. Balaj and Syed Danish Shah s/o Syed Ahad Shah.

Following DNA sample collection of the bodies, twenty-one have been shifted to the morgue managed by Chhipa Welfare and other forty-five to Edhi mortuary.
