LHC bars NAB from arresting Shahbaz Sharif who secured bail during Wednesday hearing of his request.

Lahore High Court (LHC) granted interim bail to Shahbaz Sharif till June 17 in money laundering and assets beyond income cases.

Moreover, the court also asked National Accountability Bureau (NAB) not to arrest Shahbaz, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president and opposition leader in National Assembly.

Shehbaz Sharif’s lawyer Pervez Amjad informed the two-member LHC bench that his client attended the court hearing despite being cancer patient.

The LHC asked the PML-N leader whether he fears arrest in the references against him.

Subsequently, the court has directed Shahbaz Sharif to submit bail bond worth Rs0.5 million.

The NAB officials remained present in LHC with a view to arrest the opposition leader in case the court rejects bail plea.

The PML-N activists and leaders had gathered outside the court.

On Tuesday, NAB Lahore team failed to arrest Shahbaz Sharif in assets beyond means and money laundering case.

The team National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore had arrived at the residence of opposition leader Mian Shahbaz Sharif for his arrest.

The NAB officials sought to arrest him over non-appearance in today’s NAB case hearing but Shahbaz escaped arrest.
