PM seeks PIA restructuring plan framework within in a week.

In this regard, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the Chief Executive Officer of PIA , Air Marshal Arshad Malik on Friday.  Pakistan International Airlines’s CEO called on him in Islamabad.

The PM directed him to expedite restructuring plan of the the national flag carrier and present him a framework in a week’s time.

Furthermore, he asked the CEO to undertake the restructuring in consultation with his Advisor on Institutional Reforms Dr. Ishrat Hussain.

Air Marshal Arshad Malik briefed the Prime Minister regarding ongoing negotiations with European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to ensure PIA flight operations for Europe. The CEO also briefed the Prime Minister regarding restructuring of PIA so as to make it a profitable and leading airline.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the Government was pursuing an across-the-board reforms agenda to make institutions efficient and service oriented.

On the other hand, Adviser to Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan Friday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan here.
During the meeting, they discussed the matters pertaining to the parliamentary affairs and others mutual of interest.

Meanwhile, APP report noted the latest Oxfam report “The Hunger Virus” as yet another endorsement of the approach which Prime Minister Imran Khan adopted since the outbreak of the coronavirus in Pakistan in March by strongly opposing blanket lockdown in the country.
