Coronavirus has infected nearly 260000 people in Pakistan so far

According to the latest statistics, 2,085 new coronavirus cases reported in the country during the last 24 hours.

It rose the tally to 259,999.

However, government also confirmed the number of recoveries from Covid-19 continue to increase across the country.

As many as 183,737 patients so far recovered from the disease.

These include 110,068 in Sindh, 89,023 in Punjab , 31,486 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,385 in Balochistan, 14,454 in Islamabad, 1,775 Gilgit Baltistan and 1808 in Azad Kashmir .

Moreover, 49 patients died of the virus during the last 24 hours. Corona related death toll rose to 5,475.

On the other hand, a minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan has steered the country through balancing lives and livelihoods in an amazing display of competence and leadership.

In a tweet, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz said this on Sunday.

He also highlighted  National Control and Operation Centre and Ehsaas programme as the two main tools of success.

However, he said credit for success mainly goes to PM for his resolute and steadfast handling of the coronavirus despite meager resources and outdated health infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah informed the NCOC meeting Sindh govt banned sale and purchase of sacrificial animals in the streets.
