Over 5700 died of Coronavirus so far across the country, according to the official update.

However, government also reported significant improvement in the number of recoveries from COVID-19 in Pakistan.  As many as 213,175 patients have recovered so far.

According to the latest statistics, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan now stand at 50,307.

1763 new coronavirus cases and thirty-two deaths reported across the country over the last twenty-four hours.

Meanwhile, 22408 tests carried out during this period.

On the other hand, President Dr. Arif Alvi urged upon all provinces to ensure strict compliance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) on Eid-ul-Azha and during the month of Muharram-ul-Haram.

During his visit to National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), he issued these directives for controlling the spread of coronavirus.

The president noted downward trajectory of the disease. However, he stressed that sense of complacency needed to be avoided both by public and administration.

The president lauded the efforts of NCOC team in putting up a robust response to the pandemic and ensuring coordinated actions across the country.

He said the NCOC led from the front in the fight against pandemic from daily monitoring of the situation to capacity enhancement of health system and from establishing a credible database to better resource management and formulation of appropriate SOPs.

Moreover, Dr Arif Alvi conveyed his appreciation to the nation for adhering health guidelines.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiative Asad Umar and Major General Asif Mehmood Goraya, DG Operations & Planning NCOC briefed President in detail.

They briefed him on the COVID-19 related multi sectoral situation, implementation of NCC decisions, patterns of COVID-19 spread and excellent coordination mechanism established with the federating units.
