PTI govt has cleared 50pc outstanding payments of the media, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz told the National Assembly.
During question hour, Shibli Faraz informed the House in this regard on Thursday.
PTI govt has cleared 50pc outstanding payments
He said they have cleared fifty percent outstanding payments of the media for PTI government’s two year tenure.
Moreover, he assured the house for clearing the remaining fifty percent in a week time.
He cited that the Prime Minister Imran Khan has given special directions on the matter.
Furthermore, he said the outstanding amount of the last two years was 1.15 billion rupees.
The Minister for Information and Broadcasting said the present government has not recruited any person in Pakistan Television except the top management to uplift the national broadcaster.
He regretted that the institutions such as PTV, PIA and Pakistan Steel Mills were destroyed by previous governments through political appointments.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan also spoke.
He told the house that the Senate has recently passed a constitutional amendment, enhancing the seats of Balochistan Assembly.
He said the opposition parties should support the amendment when it is laid before the lower house for approval.
