President says armed forces stand vigilant and ready to defend Pakistan.

 

In a tweet, President Dr Arif Alvi said that armed forces of Pakistan stood vigilant and even today stand ready to defend the motherland.

Furthermore, he said we acclaim the professionalism and combat-readiness of our forces.

He said courage, grace, and chivalry while facing the enemy has carved our destiny.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is observing Naval Day today to honour the heroes of 1965 War.

Nation observes Navy Day to acknowledge the sacrifices and spirit of Naval heroes who epitomized grit, courage and valour during the 1965 War.

The day reminds Pakistani nation of the heroic deeds and daring achievements of Ghazis and Shuhada

Notably they had fought gallantly and humbled a much bigger adversary with their absolute faith in Allah.

The day marks a golden chapter in Pakistan’s rich naval history and rekindles hope and pride in new generation.

On the night of 7/8 September 1965, a Flotilla comprising seven ships of Pakistan Navy, bombarded Indian port Dwarka in operation code named  ‘SOMNATH’.

Meanwhile, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi issued a message on the occasion of naval day 2020.

He highlighted capability of Pakistan Navy as it vigilantly guarding country’s maritime interests.

Moreover, Pakistan Navy also released special documentary film Surkhru on Naval Day 2020.

The documentary film is based on the successful operation by Pakistan Navy to prevent Indian submarine from entering Pakistani waters.
