Pakistani nation remembers Pakistan’s first Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan as Shaheed-e-Millat (Martyr of the Nation).

Born in Karnal‚ East Punjab, Liaquat Ali Khan got education from Aligarh Muslim University, India and Oxford University, United Kingdom.
He then struggled with Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to get a separate homeland for Muslims of sub-continent.
Liaquat Ali Khan was assassinated this day in 1951 during a public meeting at Company Bagh in Rawalpindi.
Later, the authorities concerned renamed it as Liaquat Bagh.
He is buried at Mazar-e-Quaid compound in Karachi.
Khan’s was the fist high profile assassination of the history of Pakistan.
Tops government officials and people visit his grave on anniversary of the martyrdom.
Notably, they offer fateha for Liaquat Ali Khan.
Some organizations also hold events in commemoration of the first PM on his martyrdom anniversary.
