Coronavirus claims seven more lives in Pakistan during last 24 hours. 

According to the latest statistics, 659 more people tested Covid positive after the tests of 33,901 over the last twenty-four hours.

Besides, seven more people died of Coronavirus infection during the last twenty-four hours.

The figure of patients recovered from the virus has reached 305,835.

There are now 9,421 active cases in the country.

On the other hand, Federal Minister and NCOC head asked people to take Covid19 SOPs seriously.

In his tweets on Thursday, Minister for Planning Asad Umar made this appeal.

He further said the government otherwise may have to take restrictive actions which will have negative effects on the livelihoods of the people.

The Minister said there are unmistakable signs of rise of coronavirus in the country. He said the national positivity of Covid-19 cases was 2.37 percent yesterday.

This is the highest positivity in more than fifty days. He said 11 virus deaths on average have been reported during the first four days of this week.

Meanwhile, an important meeting of cabinet committee on coronavirus held at CM Office in Lahore.

The meeting reviewed the government initiatives taken to deal with the second wave of Covid-19.

Provincial Ministers Muhammad Basharat Raja, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Murad Raas, Yasir Humayun, Chief Secretary and other secretaries of concerned departments and high ranking officers were also present on the occasion.

The met on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

They stressed to avoid processions and public gatherings.

They said that processions and public gatherings could result the spread of coronavirus.
