Foreign Secretary hails all weather strategic partnership with China, during a meeting with Ambassador-designate Nong Rong.

Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood Monday received China’s Ambassador-designate Nong Rong.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson’s tweet, the foreign secretary lauded Ambassador Nong Rong’s experience.

Furthermore, he extended best wishes to him for successful term.

The FS reaffirmed strong commitment to Pakistan-China ‘All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.’

Moreover, he expressed hope that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects would be fast-tracked.

On the other hand, government categorically said no conspiracy could derail China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Shibli Faraz said, while responding to a Calling Attention Notice.

PPP’s Mian Raza Rabbani raised the issue of CPEC  in the Senate.

Meanwhile, researcher Mian Faisal Nazir stressed the need for the flow of knowledge as an important part of scientific research.

He said it would enable Pakistan and China to cope with the climate change and associated risks in cotton.

Currently, he works as a postdoctoral research fellow at Institute of Cotton Research (ICR) of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS).

During the course of his PhD, he studied the genomic aspects of genetic differentiation and adaptive evolution of upland cotton in Anyang, China.

According China Economic Net (CEN), he told reporters that besides field-based work, lots of advanced molecular research is also going on in China.

He said that we are also doing molecular research, but due to the limited resources, its scope isn’t much wider in Pakistan.

However, he noted difference of dimension of Pakistan and China’s research on cotton.

He said it has a wider scope in China, while in Pakistan it remains limited.

Most of the cotton research work in Pakistan remains focused on field-based evaluation and developing new cultivars.
