PM COVID Relief Fund Policy Committee meets to review fund utilization details.

Imran Khan addressed the meeting of Policy Committee overseeing the Prime Minister’s COVID Relief Fund in Islamabad today (Monday). It reviewed fund utilization details.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed that full transparency will be ensured in using donated funds.

Moreover, he hailed Pakistanis as the most giving nation and their generosity remains legendary.

Meanwhile, the PM’s Fund received Rs4.8 billion in donation from within Pakistan and overseas.

Of them Rs1.08 billion rupees came from donors abroad, while Rs3.8 billion contributed domestically.

Earlier this year, the Prime Minister had publicly announced two policies with respect to this fund.

He committed that these funds would be disbursed through Ehsaas Emergency Cash to assist COVID 19 job loss affectees.

The PM also announced a matching funds policy which stipulated that for every rupee donated into the fund, the PTI government would match 4 rupees.

Government matched Rs19.55bn

In accordance with that pledge, the government has matched Rs19.55 billion.

This amount has supported 2 million families, each of which received 12,000 rupees each.

Federal government provided this money under Ehsaas Emergency cash.

Government says the PM COVID Relief Fund has set a new precedent, in terms of transparency and track-ability of donated funds.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan gave the approval for National Job Portal to help youth in immense job opportunities.

He accorded approval during a meeting with Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar on Monday.

Usman Dar also shared this news on his account at the Twitter handle.
