Japan to provide grant assistance for Weather Surveillance Radar installation at Sukkur.

In this regard, Pakistan and Japan signed an agreement in Islamabad today (Monday).

Japan to provide grant assistance for Weather Surveillance Radar

Secretary Economic Affairs Division Noor Ahmad and Matsuda Kuninori, Ambassador of Japan signed it.

According to the agreement, Japan will provide a grant assistance of 1.9 billion Japanese Yen (PKR 3.078 billion).

The project will help delivery of reliable and timely meteorological services to prevent the damage to life and property which disasters cause.

Meanwhile, Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar addressed the ceremony.

Minister for Economic Affairs appreciated the Government and the People of Japan for their continued support.

Furthermore, he assured the Japanese-side of extending all necessary facilitation for more meaningful and enhanced cooperation between the two sides in future.

Meanwhile, World Bank’s Country Director to Pakistan Najy Benhassine called on Makhdoom Khusro.

During the meeting, they discussed the projects being executed with the cooperation of World Bank in Pakistan.

Moreover, Makhdoom Khusro also stressed to enhance cooperation in the fields of education, health, local government, housing and agriculture.
