Corruption has gone high in Pakistan
While comparing the previous reports, observers noted increase in corruption in Pakistan.
According to the latest ranking, Pakistan ranked 124 out of 180 countries.
Observers particularly see it four places down from 2019’s ranking.
Transparency International (TI), an international non-governmental organisation based in Berlin.
It releases the CPI every year, ranking 180 countries and territories.
However, the TI based ranking on perceived levels of public sector corruption.
Moreover, they view perceived corruption according to experts and business people.
Its reports also shows hike in corruption during the tenure of Imran Khan-led PTI government.
Notably, the TI’s CPI 2018 ranked Pakistan 117th among 180 countries and 120th in CPI 2019.
Now, the Opposition parties would consider it an godsend opportunity to slam the PTI government.
Factually speaking, the TI CPI ranking will help PDM much.
