Jordan Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff head conferred Hilal e Imtiaz at a ceremony in Islamabad today (Thursday).

President Dr. Arif Alvi has conferred Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) on Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hnaity.

He conferred Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of Jordanian Armed Forces with HI (M) in recognition of his efforts to further strengthen the defense relations between Pakistan and Jordan.

In this regard, the investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Earlier, Maj-Gen Al Hnaity called on his Pakistani counterpart Lt-Gen. Nadeem Raza and army chief Lt-Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi.

During the meeting, they discussed matters of bilateral professional interest.

Besides, further strengthening of security and defence cooperation between the two countries also came under discussion.

Meetings with military top brass

Both the sides also deliberated upon prevailing international and regional security environment.

Meanwhile, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hnaity lauded the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces.

He also acknowledged their sacrifices in fight against terrorists.

Army Chief General Bajwa said that Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Jordan.

Moreover, he said Pakistan Army looks forward for enhanced defence and security cooperation with Jordan Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, the visiting dignitary appreciated the professionalism of Pakistan Army and its continuous efforts for regional peace and stability.

Pakistan and Jordan enjoy cordial relations since long with a history of military cooperation.

However, Pakistani nation reject Israel as a state to mark solidarity with Palestinians.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti delegation also visits Pakistan. Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs led delegation called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Ambassador Ali Suleman Al-Saeed accompanied him during the meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday.
