Punjab announces Rs 2500 increase in minimum monthly wages of workers.

Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar made this announcement on World Labour Day.

Punjab announces Rs 2500 increase in minimum monthly wages

He announced to increase the minimum monthly wages of workers from 17500 Rupees to 20,000 Rupees.

He spoke, while presiding over a high level meeting in Lahore on Saturday.

Furthermore, he said that the PTI government has increased the minimum wage of workers by 5,000 rupees in the last three years.

The CM said they had increased the marriage grant for workers from 100,000 Rupees to 200,000 Rupees.

Similarly, they increased the death grant from 500,000 rupees to 600,000 rupees.

Furthermore, he also referred to allotment of flats in the labour colonies of Lahore, Nankana Sahib and Multan.

He said that the grant of over Rs 7 billion under Punjab Workers Welfare Fund a proof of the government’s labour friendliness.

Punjab Chief Minister also termed the labourers as national heroes.

Meanwhile, Pakistanis are observing labour day with simplicity due to coronavirus.
