President Dr Arif Alvi holds a consultative session of religious scholars in Islamabad on Wednesday.

At the conclusion, they issued a joint statement. The religious scholars from different schools of thought agreed to woo the people for vaccination.

The President asked the people to get themselves vaccinated against COVID-19 to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

He also reading out the content of the statement.

He said millions of people have become victim of COVID-19.

President noted the religious scholars give weightage to the opinion of health experts regarding vaccination against the pandemic.

He further said the religious scholars agreed to the fact that wooing the people for vaccination is one of their prime responsibilities.

He said vaccination is important to effectively stop the virus and ensure continuation of socio-economic activities especially the industries and factories.

Meanwhile, the religious scholars also expressed satisfaction over the ingredients of the anti-Covid vaccines registered in Pakistan.

They agreed to effectively and positively raise their voice form mosques, Imambargahs and seminaries to persuade the people for Corona Vaccination.

The President said the religious scholars who themselves have also got the vaccination, in their sermons on Friday next will especially preach the people about the importance of Corona Vaccination.

Moreover, he said such announcements will continue to emanate from the mosques in future as well.

Meanwhile, President Dr. Arif Alvi commended the role played by the religious scholars in successfully handing the COVID-19 situation.
