Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhari categorically rejected Afghan representative’s statement.

The latter propagated disinformation and levelled baseless allegations against Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council.

That statement aimed to mislead the international community.

However, the FO spokesman tweeted his reaction to that statement.

He cited the international community recognized constructive role of Pakistan regarding Afghanistan issue.

Furthermore, he lamented not acceding to Pakistan’s request to the President of the Council to address the Council’s session and present its perspective on the Afghan peace process and the way forward.

He also emphatically reiterate on no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan.

Moreover, he underlined a negotiated political settlement as the only way forward for durable peace and security in the country.

Pakistan called upon all sides in Afghanistan to eschew the military approach.

The FO spokesman urged them to work together to secure an inclusive, broad-based and comprehensive political settlement.

He underlined it equally important to remain cognizant of spoilers, both within and outside.

India has assumed UNSC president on rotation, therefore Pakistanis feel partiality on part of India at the UNSC.
