PM says govt working on increasing farmers income to check poverty.
Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed these views, while addressing Farmers’ Convention in Bahawalpur today (Wednesday).
He underlined it as his vision to support farmers, enabling them to increase their income.

Furthermore, he noted rise in their income critical to decrease poverty.
The PM also vows to bring down prices of essential items, and reduce inflation in the country.
He further said the government is providing direct subsidy to farmers through Kissan Card to procure agri inputs.
He said we have to help farmers by providing them fiscal assistance and technological support.
The Prime Minister said the government believes in encouraging research in the agriculture sector to increase per acre yield.
He assured the farmers to extend all possible assistance to them to bring prosperity to Pakistan.
Moreover, Prime Minister mentioned with pride that the growers secured Rs 1100 billions of additional income during the previous fiscal years.
He said they secured additional income owing to the government’s policy enhancing support prices of various agricultural crops, including wheat, sugarcame and maize.
On the occasion, he distributed Kissan Cards among the farmers.
Imran Khan also appreciated performance of the Islamia University Bahawalpur in promoting the culture of research, especially in the field of agriculture.
