COAS directs to provide assistance in quake hit areas of Balochistan.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed troops stationed in Balochistan to provide all out assistance to civil administration in carrying out rescue, relief and rehabilitation activities in the quake affected areas.

According to the ISPR, the Army Chief said the troops should help mitigate difficulties faced by the affected population.

Balochistan quake near Harnai kills 20

Balochistan quake near Harnai killed 20 and injured 300 people Thursday.

According to Radio Pakistan, at least 20 people died and more than 300 injured due to an earthquake.

The quake of 5.9 magnitude intensity hit the northern Balochistan early in the morning.

The epicentre of earthquake recorded near Harnai.

Besides, it recorded 15 killometers deep.

Rescue teams from Quetta subsequently rushed to the most affected districts.

They began shifting injured to hospitals.

President, PM

Meanwhile, President and PM directed coordinated relief efforts for quake hit Balochistan areas.

President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan condoled over the losses of life and properties due to the earthquake which rocked Harnai area of Balochistan.

First, the PM received the initial report on quake-cause losses.

Later, he directed all relevant departments to assist the Balochistan government in its relief efforts.

In a tweet, he said he ordered immediate assistance on an emergency basis for the Harnai, Balochistan, earthquake victims.

Moreover, the PM also ordered an immediate assessment of the damage for timely relief & compensation.
