PPP takes notice of Aitzaz Ahsan anti-party policy statement

LAHORE: The acting President of Punjab Pakistan Peoples Party, Rana Farooq Saeed has demanded to cancel the membership of party’s founding member and former federal minister Aitzaz Ahsan.

While addressing a press conference, Rana Farooq Saeed said that Aitzaz Ahsan had become the partner of Imran Khan ‘conspiracy’ to derail the democratic system of the country, therefore, his party’s membership should be suspended. He also said the PPP workers in Punjab had been demanding removal of PPP leader from the PPP central executive committee and cancellation of his party membership.

One day ago, the top leadership distanced itself from the statement of Aitzaz saying, that it’s not the party policy, it was his personal views.

It is pertinent t0 mention, that the former federal minister had alleged that establishment helped the Sharif family get clear from the corruption cases.

As per sources, PPP likely to hold meeting today in Lahore and to investigate Aitzaz. In the meeting it is expected to cancel his membership.
