Lahore court has issued arrest warrants of Capt R. Safdar

LAHORE: District court has issued arrest warrants of Capt (R) Safdar as he failed to appear in the case related to speech against state institutions.
In September, the Lahore Judicial Magistrate of District Cantt issued the bailable arrest warrants for the PML-N Leader Capt (R) Safdar for not appearing several times in the court’s hearings.
Despite being summoned, PML-N leader failed to appear and instead, filed application seeking exemption from appearing in the court. The court rejected the exemption plea and issued arrest warrants, adjourning the hearing until October 25.

It may be recalled that the Islampura police in Lahore had registered a case against PML-N leader in 2019 and submitted the challan to the court after which the court had summoned retired captain for Oct 21 (today) for indictment.
A case had been registered against Captain (R) Safdar and others at Islampura police station in 2019 over a scuffle with police officials outside the accountability court during the appearance of the his wife, PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz.
