Contempt case: Vawda seeks unconditional apology from SC

Finally, Senator Faisal Vawda on Wednesday submitted an unconditional apology to the Supreme Court in the contempt of court case.

Earlier, a contempt case was filed against the former federal minister for his tirade against the judiciary with regard to the  the Islamabad High Court’s judges’ letter that pointed out the intelligence agency’s alleged meddling in judicial affairs.

In his apology, the Senator wrote: “I place myself at the mercy of the Supreme Court.” He requested the apex court to end the contempt of court proceedings against him.

Vawda further wrote: “I unconditionally apologize if my news conference hurt the dignity of the judiciary.”

The former federal minister clarified that his presser was not intended to insult the judiciary.

The Senator, earlier, had refused to seek unconditional apology from the apex court over a press conference on May 15.
