TLP ends Faizabad sit-in after reaching agreement with govt

19 July, 2024 17:43

ISLAMABAD: The Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on Friday called off its Faizabad sit-in in Islamabad after successful negations with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The TLP called off its sit-in after the federal government assured that it would ramp up efforts to help out Palestinians.

“The federal government will continue and boost its efforts to help the Muslims of Palestine and the TLP people will assist the government for the purpose,” Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah said.

“A shipment of goods comprising fruits and medicines will be dispatched to Palestine before July 31,” Sanaullah said.

Sanaullah also described Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as a “terrorist” and urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for its atrocities in Gaza.

He added that all companies associated with Israel will be boycotted and a committee has been set up in this regard.

On Saturday, TLP staged a sit-in at Faizabad Interchange, calling on the government to provide food and medical aid to Palestinians and to label Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a terrorist.
