Good news for Germany visa seekers
After a temporary suspension, the German Consulate in Karachi has resumed services for Germany visa seekers after a temporary suspension.
“The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Karachi has resumed normal operation for non-EU citizens,” the consulate said in a statement shared on Facebook.
Initially, the service halted for all non-European Union (EU) citizens due “imminent security concerns.”
“This decision underscores the consulate’s commitment to maintaining operational stability amidst local cultural observances. Travelers and applicants can now proceed with visa applications as normal, facilitating smoother diplomatic relations and travel arrangements between Pakistan and Germany,” read the statement.
It was worth mentioning here that, the suspension of services for non-EU citizens was a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of consulate staff and visitors. The consulate will likely resume services once the security concerns have been addressed.
Pakistan has experienced an uptick in militant attacks since the TTP called off their fragile truce with the government in November 2022.
The western provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have borne the brunt of these attacks, with insurgents targeting Chinese nationals working on projects related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
